New-Gen W206 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Unveiling On 23rd Feb
Mercedes-Benz is set to launch the C-class on February 23 and it is a very huge step for Mercedes as the new C-Class has very major updates in all the terms.
- Introducing the new ‘Drive Pilot’ autonomous driving tech.
- New MBUX Infotainment System
- C-Class Crossover in progress
- Built on Mercedes’s new MRA platform.
What’s New In The New-Gen C-Class?
The major change in the C-Class is the Mercedes’ MRA (Modular Rear Architecture) platform. It is mainly an electrical architecture that supports a 48V system that directly implies that there is going to be a very thorough range of plug-in hybrid models.
The engine options will mainly consist of 2.0-litre petrol, diesel and will offer a choice of EQ Boost mild-hybrid and EQ Power plug-in hybrid functions in both the powertrains.
The AMG models are very likely to return this year but with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that will pump-out over 500 ponies.
One of the major technological changes is the Drive Pilot mode which is already available in the current S-Class and that will basically allow hands-off driving at high speeds of around 130kph for long drives. This implies that there will be a long list of sensors such as long-range lidar, multi-mode radar, the latest ultra-sonic sensors.
The new model will also have the new MBUX Infotainment System that is just an impeccable piece of tech and currently available in the higher models such as the S-Class and G-Wagen.
