McLaren 765LT 2021 Review: McLaren 765LT 2021 is more of a track-focused sports car and due to being light it offers very high performance and some great numbers.

Overview

McLaren has created a 754 horsepower beast named the 765LT. LT stands for LongTail and it makes this car very special. The front of the car gives a very aggressive look. It also shares a lot of features from the McLaren 720S. The 765LT is very lightweight and aggressive and weighs below 3000 pounds. Only 765 of these cars will be produced around the world and thirty-forty percent will be reserved for the U.S. only buyers. Some additional features include carbon-fiber accents, super-lightweight racing seats with a six-point harness, upgraded brakes, and the McLaren Track Telemetry system that records lap times.

It is expected to go in production at the end of this year (2020).

The 765LT is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 mid-engine and produces 754 horsepower. The 720S also offers some identical specs but 765LT is more powerful and lightweight. It is claimed that the 765LT will have a 0-60 mph time of  2.7 seconds. It offers a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends all of its power to the rear wheels. The 765LT is very nice around the corners and the steering response is also very nice.

The interior of the car is almost identical to the 720S and customization options like soft-grain leather interior, faux-suede Alcantara upholstery is also identical. The 765LT’s interior is designed to reduce the weight of the car and improve its performance.

A vertical 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system is available in the center and the buyer can opt for different sets of speakers setups which are varied from a 4-speaker setup to a powerful Bowers & Wilkins audio system. The infotainment system offers Bluetooth connectivity and SiriusXM satellite radio.

Fuel Economy

The fuel economy of the 765LT hasn’t been revealed yet but the 720S offers 15 miles-per-gallon in the city and 22 miles-per-gallon on the highway and 18 miles-per-gallon combined. So we can expect the 765LT to offer nearly identical numbers.

Safety & Driver Assistance

The 765LT hasn’t been crash-tested yet but it offers some useful driver-assistance features which are pretty basic for a car with a six-figure price tag. Some of them include:

  • Front and rear parking sensors
  • Front-end lift system
  • 360-degree camera

Pricing

The McLaren 765LT is offered in only one model and many additional customizations can be done by the customer by their preference. Only 765 of these cars will be made and around 30-40 percent will be reserved for U.S. only buyers. The estimated price of 765LT is $375,000.
