Audi R8 2020 Review: Alright in today’s post I am going to be showing you my full review of the 2020 Audi R8.

Overview

The 2020 Audi R8 has a new edgy style and a beast under its hood. Although the R8 shares its powertrain and mechanicals with the Lamborghini Huracan, it can be used as an everyday car. It has a V10 engine that makes 602 horsepower at most. The R8 is available in coupe and convertible ( Spyder ) models. The engine of the car is located at the back of the passenger seats and the car is available in all-wheel-drive and the transmission is seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. The base model offers 562 horsepower. The interior of the R8 feels very luxurious and futuristic.

Audi R8 2020 Performance

The R8’s V-10 engine is offered in two strengths, both potential enough to blow the mind out of unsuspecting passengers and both capable of searing your eardrums with their extraordinary exhaust sounds. The R8’s seven-speed dual-clutch automatic isn’t the smoothest gearbox and occasionally it downshifts too aggressively and perhaps too boldly, causing a very fast acceleration followed by an almost immediate upshift to a higher gear. The base R8 has standard adaptive suspension, while Performance models are fitted with a more aggressive, fixed-damper setup. Both provide a comfortable ride that you could tolerate without any tiredness on long trips. The R8’s bold nature comes with a drawback, however: In full-power mode, it simply doesn’t handle corners as confidently as its competitors, and sometimes it feels more unsettled than you’d expect from a supercar. The standard steering setup is direct and relays information from the road to the driver’s hands with only a mild filter.

Audi R8 2020 Models

The 2020 R8 lineup includes four models which include the coupe, spyder, performance coupe, and performance spyder. The lineup offers two separate engines which offer different horsepower, the bad model has 562 horsepower, and the top, model has 602 horsepower.

Audi R8 2020 Interior

The infotainment display is relocated and resides high in the centre of the dashboard, the instrument cluster provides a refreshingly simple layout and lets the beautifully sculpted sport seats and high-resolution digital gauge cluster are offered in the R8’s cockpit. Audi offers a lot of customizations in the interior for example – the seat’s colours can be customized, and the stitching can also be changed in several different options. Overall, it’s a beautifully executed cockpit with easy-to-reach controls including some cool features such as the ignition button located on the steering wheel.

The Virtual Cockpit gauge cluster displays both instrumentation and the MMI infotainment system which makes the R8 feel very sporty and futuristic. High-resolution navigation is standard, and the system can be controlled via voice commands, steering-wheel-mounted controls, or a click wheel on the centre console. A 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot is also standard; Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability are also offered.

Fuel Economy

Buying an R8 is not a very economical choice but all-wheel-drive R8 variants, regardless of roof type or horsepower rating, have the same EPA estimates for fuel economy—but they aren’t impressive. 13 miles-per-gallon in the city and 20 miles-per-gallon on the highway is offered by the R8’s 2020 lineup.

Safety & Driver Assistance

The R8 has not yet been crash-tested but Audi offers a bunch of driver- assistance features such as Standard automatic high-beam headlamps and Standard front and rear parking sensors.

Pricing

The R8’s 2020 lineup offers four different models and the starting price tag of  $172,850 which is for the base model that offers a 562 horsepower V10 engine. The prices of all the models are:

  • Coupe: $172,850
  • Spyder: $185,050
  • Performance Coupe: $198,850
  • Performance Spyder: $211,050

Conclusion

The 2020 Audi R8 is undeniably a great car. The all-new aggressive look is just so perfect as it shows the R8’s capability. It is offered in four different models and two different engines. The 562 horsepower V10 and a 602 horsepower V10, both models have great potential. The interior of the car is simple, elegant, and futuristic. This car is absolutely amazing and offers the best in all the terms.
