Range Rover Velar 2020 Review: Alright in today’s post I am going to show you my full review of the Range Rover Velar 2020.
The Range Rover Velar 2020 is a very attractive choice in the compact luxury SUV segment. Land Rover has offered many customizations in the Velar. But its unrefined powertrains, clumsy handling, and buggy infotainment system are all causes for pause. It has an eight-speed automatic gearbox with standard all-wheel-drive. The gears are controlled from the rotary knob on the center console. At the end of the day, rivals such as the Porsche Macan may offer more features, but they can’t match Velar for its elegant design.
The high-performance SV Autobiography Dynamic edition is added in the lineup. It offers a supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 making 550 horsepower. The 2020 Velar has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, blind-spot monitoring, 14-way power-adjustable front seats, a power-adjustable steering column, and SiriusXM satellite radio. Two new colors are also added: Eiger Grey and Carpathian Grey. Land Rover has evicted the diesel four-cylinder from the lineup.

Range Rover Velar 2020 Performance
Each model of the 2020 Velar lineup offers an eight-speed automatic with standard all-wheel-drive. The lineup comprises of six different models and three different engines. The base model offers a 247 horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, the supercharged 3.0-liter V-6, and the supercharged V-8 in the SV Autobiography. Models equipped with the available air suspension can raise and lower their ride height.
Range Rover Velar 2020 Safety & Driver Assistance
Land Rover offers the latest driver-assistance technologies such as automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control on the Velar.
Range Rover Velar 2020 Interior
The 2020 Velar’s interior is very simple and bold and the materials used throughout are high quality and scattered in fascinating ways. The interior can be customized in various ways by the choice of the customer. Every Velar has excellent detailing throughout the whole interior and the exterior of the car. It has a very huge cargo space as well and beats the other rivals in terms of cargo space.
The Velar has a very elegant futuristic-looking dual dashboard-touchscreen display. The screen graphics also match the interiors vibes and overall it looks very classy and modern. Land Rover calls its infotainment system InControl Touch Pro Duo, and it’s standard on every Velar. It comprises of Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, voice control, eight speakers, an auxiliary audio input jack, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration, and two USB ports.
A better audio system with more speakers, navigation, and SiriusXM satellite radio requires additional options or a move up in the Velar’s different set of models.
The 2020 Velar has 22 combined city/highway miles-per-gallon 20 city and 26 highway which sums up to 4.5 gals/100 miles.
Warranty & Maintenace
The Velar offers a four-year, 50,000-mile limited warranty and the scheduled maintenance plan is not complimentary it is an add-on. But, interestingly Jaguar’s F-Pace offers both a stronger warranty and a five-year, 60,000-mile complimentary scheduled maintenance plan.
Pricing & Models
The Velar’s 2020 lineup offers six different models. The starting price tag of the Velar is $57,325 which is for the base model and the top-end model namely SV Autobiography has a price tag of $91,815.
- P250 S: $57,325
- P250 R-Dynamic S: $59,525
- P340 S: $63,225
- P340 R-Dynamic S: $65,425
- P380 R-Dynamic HSE: $76,325
- SV Autobiography: $91,815
The Velar majors on style but it’s still a useful car. It’s roomy enough for a family, not so big it’s awkward in cities, and capable of unusual off-road feats. In a way it’s hard to see direct rivals: the Jaguar F-Pace sister car goes up against the ‘sportier’ German opposition.
The Velar’s cabin and new display/control system are good to use and beautiful. It’s a nice place to be in the long-term, but the initial impact is stunning. So if you’re looking for an elegant looking car that offers you road presence and comfort at the same time Range Rover Velar 2020 is the one for you.
